The Old Vicarage, Great Thurlow was just what we needed after a long journey from the North, we were greeted with a cup of tea before having a hot bath, off to the pub for a quick meal then a comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the next part of our journey to the airport. Next time we will stay longer and visit Newmarket for the races. I am happy to recommend The Old Vicarage to anyone who is looking for peace and quiet.
Nothing is too much trouble for Jane Sheppard – she is an amiable and attentive host who delights in the small touches that enhance your stay and is very welcoming and accommodating. The house which is an Old Vicarage is a delight with large rooms and beautiful views, set in 6 acres of gardens. My wife and I and our friends all had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The Cock Inn in the village and the White Horse in a neighbouring village are both excellent pubs for good food at reasonable prices. Rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and you have your own bathroom. We would definitely return.
